| 08/22/2006 Mitsubishi will use the 2006 Paris Motor Show in September to launch its new European SUV, the Outlander Sport. Due to go on sale in Ireland in February 2007, the new mid-size passenger SUV has been designed to bring new levels of comfort and style to one of the fastest growing sectors of the Irish market. Seventy years after it first entered the four-wheel drive arena, and hot on the heels of the launch of the new L200 pick-up range, Mitsubishi Motors will once again demonstrate in Paris its expertise in this area with the Outlander Sport, while at the same time firmly positioning itself to compete in a segment which now accounts for over 6,000 sales a year in Ireland. It is a derivative of the new Outlander launched in Japan in October 2005 which is now the best selling compact SUV in Japan. The Outlander Sport will bring car-like levels of active safety and driving pleasure to the SUV segment, while its all-wheel control drive system allows a smooth progression off the beaten track, up to a lock 4WD mode. The Outlander Sport will further showcase Mitsubishi Motors’ strong visual identity. Its wide stance, muscular fenders, and sharp lines leave no doubt about its dynamic abilities, while its kicked-up window line, piercing headlamps, and alloy wheels give the appearance of permanent motion. On the inside, the Outlander Sport has been designed as a stylish living space, flexible to suit all requirements and with features to match, in particular the clever and simple Hide We are hugely excited about this vehicle. Customers in the market for an SUV want style, comfort, a high level of standard equipment, and value for money.
